The Financial Times and Citi has announced the finalists for this year’s FT/Citi Ingenuity Awards: Urban Ideas in Action programme.

The Financial Times and Citi has announced the finalists for this year’s FT/Citi Ingenuity Awards: Urban Ideas in Action programme. The awards honour those who have made remarkable progress in battling urban challenges and offering solutions to problems such as city administration, transport systems, energy and utilities, education and resource management, housing, health, social services, mobile technologies and community engagement. We are proud to say that BlaBlaCar has been shortlisted as a key contender from Europe!

Here is an interview with our Co-Founder and COO, Nicolas Brusson, speaking about BlaBlaCar being shortlisted:

In total, organizations from 44 countries submitted their projects to be considered for the awards, with a board of judges selecting the finalists by region. One winner will be chosen for each region and a global winner will be announced in New York on December 10th.

Nicolas presented BlaBlaCar at the awards dinner held in London this September. BlaBlaCar was selected due to its progress in combating ever-rising transport prices, ultimately offering a whole new transport system to the public. Other fellow contenders from Europe are:

George Ferguson, Mayor of Bristol, the keynote speaker for the evening, gave an inspirational speech about his vision for urban progress, calling on all the finalists to get in touch to implement their ideas for positive change through innovation in Bristol!
